Sir John Lawes School

The TES

Objective

Sir John Lawes School in Hertfordshire is a very successful school but their website did not reflect this success. It had grown organically over many years and had no design consistency. It was also very difficult to navigate and provided a very uninspiring user experience which did not represent the school's creativity and status as a specialist media arts school. They were also very reliant on having someone with technical skills who was able to maintain the website.

The objective was to create a beautiful website that represented the spirit, culture and creativity of the school and for it to be easy and enjoyable for visitors to use and for staff to update.

Solution

We designed and produced a new website that reflected the creative culture of the school and we used a range of different design styles and creative approaches throughout the site.

The technological platform provided the school with an advanced content management system which enables staff to easily edit text and add and remove pages, sub pages, photographs, downloads and video and audio files.

We also included a range of added value tools including a forum for Year 6 pupils to assist with their transition into Year 7 and a parental engagement portal.
